23 Dec Defining Classical Architecture Today
Please join Fearrington Friends of the Arts on January 6th at 1:30 p.m. at the Gathering Place when James S. Collins, a New York and Greensboro based architect, will give an illustrated talk on classical architecture: its history and defining features, as well as its place in modern times.
Classical architecture began in Greece and Rome, but the elegance and grace of the ancients lives on and can be seen in many iconic American buildings, including the White House and Jefferson’s Monticello.
Mr. Collins specializes in classical and traditional architecture, and has a passion for historic restoration. His residential and institutional projects are found in several states, including North Carolina.
